Effect of ensiling on Content and Rumen Degradability of Forage Rice Straw's DM and NDF

Three milking dairy cow fitted with rumen cannulas were selected to study the effect of ensiling on rumen degradable characteristics of dry matter(DM) and detergent fiber(NDF)of Xiangzaoxian No.24 feed rice,compared with dry rice straw.The results demonstrated that ensiling significantly decreased NDF content(P0.05) but had no remarkable influence on CP,EE and ADF.The rumen loss rates of DM and NDF at 6,12,24,48 and 72 h of digestion increased significantly(P0.01).For rumen fermentation characteristics,ensiling increased parameter b and c(P0.01).There was no insignificant difference observed on parameter a(P0.05).Compared with the control,ensiling increased effective DM and NDF degradability(P0.01).it was concluded that ensiling treatment can improve rumen degradability of DM and NDF and was an effective way to explore its feed value.
