Comparative study on 13 species of Stylosanthes spp. with random permutations and combinations were conducted in 2 years. The result indicated that 907 Stylosanthes spp. had the highest yield, good adaptability and resistance to disease. The annual yield of fresh forage and seed was 30 933 kg/hm 2 and 216 kg/hm 2 respectively, increasing by 11.7% and 27.4% respectively than 184 Stylosanthes spp. as contrast which was extended at present. 907 Stylosanthes spp. had high nutritive value. Its crude protein and fat increased by 11.0% and 37.7% respectively, but the crude fiber decreased by 2.7% than 184 Stylosanthes spp. It was applicable to improvement of grassland, cutting or production of dry forage powder.
