The resistance of wild Hemarthria compressa to Puccinia spp.in southwest of China

The resistance of 60 wild germplasm resources of Hemarthria compressa to Puccinia spp.was tested and evaluated using a seven-class standard.Resistance of wild germplasm resources to Puccinia spp.was diverse. The variation in range of the proportion of leafspots to leaf area of whole plants was from 0.01% to(86.67%) with an average value of 28.02%,and a variety coefficient of 101.39%.From No.1 to No.7 class,the resistance of each class was 22.41%、12.06%、8.62%、17.24%、13.79%、20.68%、5.17%,respectively.The proposed resistance classification and average disease was 22.41% high resistance(HR),12.06% resistant(R),8.62% medium resistance(MR),17.24% medium susceptibility(MS),13.79% susceptible(S) and(25.85%) highly susceptible(HS).The disease resistance was significantly negatively correlated to the altitude of sampled location and the length of leaf,and significantly correlated to the width of leaf and the rate of shoot.Therefore,studies should emphasise the pathogen,the disease mechanism,the infected condition and spread,the regulation of disease and control methods.Meanwhile,the wild Hemarthria compressa populations will be excellent resources for breeding anti-disease characteristics.
