Sequence analysis of internal transcribed spacer of Fagopyrum dibotrys and its systematic utility

Species of the genus Fagopyrum dibotrys are important cereals that contain abundant nutrition and potential medical value.The ITS regions of two wild F.dibotrys accessions were amplified by PCR and sequenced directly.The ITS regions of the two species are 660 and 646 bp in length. The two sequences have been submitted to Genebank with accession numbers DQ780602 and DQ780600.The sequence similarity among eight F.dibotrys species varied from 80.2% to 93.1% and this variation occured mainly in ITS1.This suggests that abundant genetic diversity exists in F.dibotrys.A phylogenetic tree was constructed by the neighbour-joining method.Accession DQ780602 is a separate clade that differs from all other accessions.
