Effects of temperature and substrate water content on the establishment of Sedum sarmentosum

Effects of three temperature regimes(35/30℃,30/25℃,25/20℃) and substrate water contents(90%,70%,50% WHC) on establishment of Sedum sarmentosum were studied under simulated environmental conditions.S.sarmentosum had better growth in terms of number of new shoots,maximum shoot length,maximum root length,dry weight and chlorophyll content at 30/25℃and 25/20℃ than at 35/30℃.At same temperatures,90% and 70% WHC were better for the growth of S.sarmentosum than 50% WHC.However,the highest chlorophyll content was at 50% WHC.Moisture can be reduced under appropriate temperatures.30/25℃+70% WHC was the best temperature/moisture combination for establishment of S.sarmentosum.
