The Research Progresses of Plant Resistance to Salt and its Mechanism of Resistance in the Genus Puccinellia

The studying results of our research workers at GGERI in recent years were reviewed as follows:Thesalt concentration ( weight of salt in 100ml water)for seed sprouting rate(as represented by the relativepercentage of germination )of Puccinellia tenuiflora reached 50%,was 2.5~2. 7g for sulphate,1.6~1.8gfor NaCl and 0.9~1.2g for Na2CO3,respectively.The salt resistance mechanism of P. tenuiflora wasindicated :1.The selective absorption and transmission of Na+ and K+2. Osmotic adjustment;3.Production and accumulation of organic matters to solidify its self-protection and so on。There was nosalt gland tissue organism in the blades of P.tenuiflora, that might be correcting the mechanism of this plantsp。 on trial as secretive ability in itself.By establishing the P. tenuiflora grassland with irrigation measure tobe taken in managernent necesSarily,it could be able to imporve the topsoil. and moreover, the irrigationwater hereby could also cause the salt leaching down to the deeper soil layer to some extent. Finally thealready established grassland would stop the soil in order that it might then be accumulated to the upper soillayer。
