The U.S.-China Trade War's Impacts on Bilateral and Global Economy and Politics and China's Countermeasures

Hu Zhenhu;Yu Xiao;
Provoked by the U.S. government, the ongoing U.S.-China trade war is fierce and will inflict severe shock, especially negative impacts on China's capital market and export. From economic perspective, although the U.S.-China trade war may have tremendous impacts on China's and U.S.'s economy in the short run, but the situation of global politics and economy would not be changed fundamentally if the trade war doesn't escalate into a full-scale economic war. This paper analyzes the trade war's impacts on Chinese and American economy and global politics and economy, also puts forward some policy recommendations for Chinese policy makers,such as preventing the U.S.-China trade war from developing into comprehensive and stalemated conflicts,keeping the reform and opening-up resolution, and winning the media war through strengthening publicity.
