Development of the On-line Voltage Stability Monitoring System Based on Wide Area Measurement System

The off-line voltage stability analysis needs a great number of calculation and does not adapt to the changs of system operation mode, so the real-time monitoring and control of voltage stability becomes more important. Based on the synchrophasor technology, Wide-Area Measurement System (WAMS) can supervise the dynamic operation of large-scale power systems, which overcomes the weaknesses of traditional SCADA and digital fault recorders.The static voltage stability analysis basic principles, system monitoring contents,analysis methords, design summary and the detailed design narrating.are given.
