Available transfer capability calcultion with thyristor controlled series capactitor

Thyristor Controlled Series Capacitor(TCSC) can effectively increase the transmission line power, affect the distribution of reactive power and improve the voltage stability of the system.In this paper,the RPF method is used to calculate available transfer capability with TCSC.To implement the algorithm,Python which is a script language is applied to develop advanced applications based on PSS/E.The effectiveness of the presented model and approach is supported by the tests on the WSCC-9 bus and IEEE-30 bus systems,and the improvement of ATC using TCSC is demonstrated with the simulation results.
