Fault Line Selection for Distribution Network Based On Improved Hilbert-Huang Transform

This paper introduces a novel method-HHT(Hilbert-Huang Transform)which is invented to deal with non-stationary signal to analysis of choosing fault line under single-phase to ground fault.HHT method can be accurate to Abstract abundant transient fault information from non-stationary signal.Through the analysis of the characteristics of zero sequence currents in fault circumstance,HHTmethod could be adopted to Abstract the information of fault zero sequence current,then the fault line could be detected by comparing the amplitude and phase of that.The results of theoretical analysis and ATP simulations show that the proposed method can choose out the fault line in distribution networks exactly and reliably.
