Available Transfer Capability Calculation Based on Mind Evolution Algorithm

This paper presented a computation model of Available Transfer Capability(ATC) based on Optimal Power Flows(OPF).The static security constraints of system are considered.A Mind Evolution Algorithm(MEA) is employed to solve this model.For the problems of Mind Evolution Algorithm in the practical computation,the algorithm is improved.The presented method is studied on IEEE-30 bus system.The main parameters of the algorithm — the size of subgroups(S),the number of temporary subgroups(N) and the size of variance(σd) are defined for the different values to calculate Available Transfer Capability.On the basis of general considering the accuracy of the results and the rapid of calculation,the fit parameters of this paper are determined.Comparing with results gained by Benders decomposition、Standard Genetic Algorithm(SGA) and Immune Genetic Algorithm(IGA),the results demonstrate the feasibility and the validity of this proposed algorithm.
