Applications of GPS in Transmission Line Fault Location and phasor Measurement

Global Positioning System(GPS) can provide navigation,ranging and timing with the nighest precision in the world.It's almost the only choice for the synchronous clock in power system.The application of GPS in the transmission line travelling wave fault location and synchronous phasor measurement is discussed in the paper.The composition and principle of GPS are also presented.
