Studies on variation in characters of D_1 generation obtained by introducing total DNA of fluecured tobacco with resistance to Alternaria alternata through the pollen tube pathway

The total DNA of fluecured tobacco, CV87, with resistance to alternaria alternata, was introduced into susceptible fluecured tobacco, NC89, through pollen tube pathway. Their first generation (D_1) was analyzed in field growth traits, resistance, and quality of tobacco leaf. By the three introducing methods, ovule injecting (ZZ), stigma dropping (DZ), and cutting off stigma dropping (QD), the higher ratios of variation of plant height, plant type, leaf shape, and growth period were obtained in the D_1 generation individuals, which were 19.10%, 18.20%, and 20%, respectively. Among the plants of ZZ. QD, and DZ, there were 9.10%, 10%, and 6. 40% individuals which obtained resistance to Alternaria altrnata. DZ9811 and QD9812 are the most excellent plants among these plants with variations.
