Studies on some physiological and physiological characters of soybean pods and blades

Soybean varieties of Dongnong 42 and Dongnong 163 were used as materia ls to study soybean blades and pods′ areas, length and width in different growt h periods and sites of node. The results showed that the average length of pods is 34.3-46.5 percent of the average length of functional blades. The average are a of pods is about 18.05 percent of its blade. The contents of chlorophyll, prot ein and carbohydrate in different sites of node and pods of Dongnong 42 were stu died in this experiment. The results indicated that the content of total chlorop hyll in soybean pods is 3.5 percent of content of total chlorophyll in soybean b lades. The contents of reducsugar and starch in pods are higher than those in bl ades. But the content of protein in pods is lower than that in blades and is abo ut 41.5 percent of content of protein in blades.
