Microsporogenesis and male gametophyte development in Salvia splendens Ker-Gawl

In this study, the paper observed the cytology characteristics of sporule and androgamete development process in Salvia splendens Ker-Gawl using paraffin section method. The result showed that there were two anther rooms of Salvia splendens Ker-Gawl, and anther wall growth style was dactyls type, gland type tapetum, cytokinesis style was simultaneous type, and mature pollen grain was three-cell type, we found that large pollen grain appeared deformed phenomenon from the mononuclear margination period to two-cell pollen process.
