Effects of N and Mg application on growth and yield of soybean

A pot experiment was conducted to study the effects of N and Mg application on growth and yield of soybean. The results showed that application of Mg at N30 and N60 kg·hm -2 levels increased LAI, SLW, grain-leaf ratio, and unit-leaf-area load. Mg application with high N rate was good for photosynthesis product transportation and distribution to soybean grain. The best group was observed in N60+Mg30. Compared with N60, exfoliated pods reduced 18%, yield increased by 20.7%, significant at 5% level.
