High Speed Grinding to Chill Rolls

Investigates the grinding of chill rolls. By means of high speed grinding, raising the efficiency in roll grinding is available with wheel wear reduced. Wheel surface is observed at different wheel speeds and analysed by means of microscope. The loading type of wheel surface is studied to explain that high speed grinding to roll is applicable. Contrast trials were made for material performances to analyse different characteristics of roll grinding. The investigation will be helpful to the improvement of roll grinding and further to the design of newer type of grinding tool for rolls.
