Simulation & Computing Study of Electrical Resistance Tomography (ERT) Sensitive Field

Finite element method (FEM) were adopted in the ERT simulation software set up by authors in NEU. For two kinds ERT medium distribution sensitive field, the numerical value calculated by the software was compared with theoretical calculation deduced from mathematical foundation. The results are coincide,the error between them of even square root is within 1%. FEM can be successfully used to simulate the dimensions of electrode and the sensitive field better, and to solve the problem of calculating for complicated ERT medium distribution effectively and correctly, it provide a reliable and advantageous way for the research of the properties and reconstruction algorithms of ERT.
