Evaluation of Rockburst Proneness in a Deep Hard Rock Mine

Rockburst is the major hazard in deep hard rock mines, and rock characters are the intrinsic factors which determine whether or not a rockburst occurs.It is an effective and economical method to evaluate rockburst proneness based on the results of rock properties tested in laboratory. Uniaxial compressive strength, tension strength, full curves of stress strain and load unload curves were tested using the rock samples obtained from the Fankou lead zinc deep mine. Brittleness index, bursting efficiency ratio, strain energy storage index,DT were used to evaluate the rockburst proneness. The results show that all rocks possess the burst proneness apprently.
