Integrated Automatic Generation of Assembly Sequences

The key factor to improve the efficiency of assembly sequence planning is to reduce the number of components involved in the search or generation of assembly sequences. A methodology was presented to simplify the assembly sequence generation. The methoddogy automatically extracts subassemblies from a product through analyzing the interference matrices and connection matrices of an assembly. By considering the engineering semantics of components, the number of components involved in the search of assembly sequences can be reduced greatly. At the same time, the assembly sequences can be optimized and evaluated,and the result can be returned to the CAD system. The useful suggestions can be given to the designers of the product.
