State Matrix of Rotor System and Stability Analysis

A dynamic model and differential equation of motion are given for an asymmetrically cantilevered dual-disc rotor system,where the elasticity of rotor casing, gyro moment and the rotary dynamic excitation of bearing are taken into account,as well as the elastic connection between casing and stator.Based on the theory of stability,the effects of some structural parameters on the stability of the rotor system are analyzed by the eigenvalue of state matrix.The results show that the influence of the rotary dynamic excitation of bearing,bearing stiffness and its speed on the system stability is great,and the higher the damping and casing stiffness,the higher the system stability.There exists a critical bearing stiffness in the system,i.e.,if the actual bearing stiffness is higher than it,there are stable regions and no such regions if lower than it.
