Optimal Design of Slope Angle for Open pit Mines

This paper proposes an integrated optimal design method,based on discrete element calculation and neural network estimation. In the discrete element method,large deformation and discontinuities of rockmass structures in slope are fully considered. In neural network model,estimating knowledge of slope angle is acquaired from case histories and used to design slope angles of new slopes. In these two waye and from different points,this new method can give an optimal slope angle with high feasibility.
