COMPARISON OF PRECISION OF LEVELING AND TRIGONOMETRIC LEVELING BY TOTAL STATIONS WITH BALANCING THE DISTANCES TO FORE POINT AND TO BACK POINT

He Xiping (Nanchang College of Water Conservancy and Hydroelectric Power, Nanchang 330029, China)  
A formula is derived of the precision of trigonometric leveling by total stations with balancing the distances to the fore point and to the back point, and the precision of trigonometrie leveling is compared with that of leveling. A conclusion is drawn that total stations with balancing the distances to the fore point and to the back point can replace order 3 or 4 leveling and can improve the precision.
