Hydro-turbine Governor and Grid Load Frequency Control Part Two Simulation of Grid Load Frequency Control

In the present power system, the hydro-turbine governor has become the central part of a hydro-turbine control system. This paper describes the relationship between the hydro-turbine governor and the grid load frequency control, analyzes the functions, the static and dynamic characteristics of the governor in grid primary and secondary frequency regulation. On the basis of modeling, simulation and field test, proposed are the PID parameter setting range of the governor under the large grid operating condition, and the power control mode of the unit.
