The Influence of Energy Storage Technology on Developing Mode of Future Power Grid

Limitation of development mode of traditional power grid is analyzed.High efficient application of large-scale intermittent renewable energy can be solved with enhanced developing energy storage devices.It can also implement following requirements such as : the integration of large scale renewable energy sources,enhancement of transmission security reliability,end user customer service options,enhancement of grid-self adjustment and control abilities,emission reduction of generation unit and energy saving,possibility to efficient separate usage from generation.It is pointed out that the development of future power grid mainly relied on distributed flexible energy storage devices built in load centre of power grid and load regulating control mechanisms.Furthermore,the new evolutionary concepts for updating the design,planning,construction and command/control of the next generation power grid are demonstrated.
