The Analytic Expressions of Mandrel Effect on the Response Field of Electromagnetic Logging Coils

An analytic expression and a lateral wave response analytic expression of mandrel effect on the response field of electromagnetic logging coils in uniform medium and in usual drilling mud borehole have been derived.The numerical results show that the material of mandrel has no influ- ence on measured values of the phase difference and the amplitude ratio in electromagnetic log- ging.
