A study on the method of passive sounding of channels for short wave frequency-hopping system

Based on the implement of FFT (fast Fourier transform) demodulator in FH/QDPSK System, this paper propose a method of passive sounding of short wave channel energy. This method can determinate which band and which band chip to have a good condition of built up communication link by using the detected signal energy on the each of bands and band chips. The average detection probability and false alarm probability have been gotten with simulation on this condition of SNR changed from -10dB to 10dB and average noise power changed from -3dBW to 10dBW. Those results and analyses can offer a better reference how to select a appropriate threshold criterion.
