Noise researched in HFGW radar sea echo processing

TIAN Jian sheng WU Shi cai YANG Zi jie SHI Zhen hua(School of Electronic Information, Wuhan University, Wuhan Hubei 430072, China)  
In this paper, the change of noise with statistic properties after the sea echo processed by the FFT is researched theoretically. This change influences the direction of arrival of the sea stream obtained by the MUSIC algorithm. The parameter model spectrum estimation (PMSE) and twice FFT methods are employed to compare and analyze the measured data of the sea echo from Zhoushan, Zhejiang, China. The comparison results show that the signal noise ratio of spectrum by using the twice FFT is worse than that using the PMSE, and verity the effectiveness of the presented research method.
