Analysis on the dispersion characteristics of complex medium PBG structure by using non-Yee grid FDTD method

In this paper, the dispersion relations of 2D-PBG structure are calculated, by using non-Yee grid high-order FDTD method. The simulation result is in good agreement with that of the conventional FDTD method. It proves this method can be used to analyze the dispersion characteristics of PBG structure. The dispersion relations profiles of the three magnetic anisotropic medium PBG structures are presented. According to these results, it can conclude that the of magnetic anisotropic medium with the permeability of real non-diagonal elements is characterized by a wider bandgap width than isotropic PBG, while other PBG's with magnetic anisotropic medium have no effect on the bandgap width.
