Application of particle swarm optimization in antenna array pattern synthesis

Particle Swarm optimization (PSO) is a robust stochastic evolutionary computation technique based on the movement and intelligence of swarm, which is very easy to understand and implement. This paper introduces a conceptual overview and detailed explanation of the PSO algorithm, as well as how it can be used for antenna array design, and presents several results optimized by PSO, which show the abroad application foreground of PSO in the antenna array design.
