Inversion of incoherent scatter spectra during ionosphere heating

Using super-Gaussian electron distribution function, incoherent scatter power spectrum recorded during Chinese campaign with the EISCAT heating facility is inversed, and the effect of non-Maxwellian index on temperature is discussed. The extended tail of electron distribution function can cause the electron temperature to be overestimated and ion temperature to be the opposite effect. The inversion result of electron temperature is obvious, and the relative error is up to 25%. The non-Maxellian factor must be considered in the inversion of incoherent scatter power during ionosphere heating.
