PRELIMINARY STUDY OF CORRELATIONS BETWEEN DISTRIBUTION OF MAIN FORETS TREES AND THERMAL CLIMATE IN NORTH-EAST CHINA

By means of kira's warmth index and coldness index the correlations between the distribution of 43 forest trees and the thermal climate in north-east China were studied. According to the optimal ranges of their thermal distribution, the trees were grouped into 5 groups:alpine tundra shrubs, subalpine shortbended forest, cool-temperate coniferous forest, temperate mixed coniferous broad-leaved forest and warm-temperate deciduous broad-leaved forest groups. The warmth index of the limit of the tree distribution in mountain regions in north-east China is 15℃. One of the boundaries between cool-temerate coniferous forest and temperate forest is 45℃. And one of the boundaries between temperate mixed coniferous broad-leaved forest and warm-temperate deciduous broad-leaved forest is 82℃. These warmth index values are as same as those of Japan and Korea.
