Acer mono seeds being at low temperature, peroxidase activity and isozymes changed obviously.The peak of an isoperoxidase was coincided with that of G-6-PD as well as NADP/NAD content. It is possible that dormant breaking was due to the oxidation of NADPH by H_2O_2 catal-yzed by peroxidase, which stimulated pentose phosphate pathway. IAA-oxidase may be one of isoperoxidases, which oxidates IAA to suitable level. GA_3 regulated germination through the aciton of peroxidase. The effect of both stratifications at low temperature and incubation at 25℃ (embryo) on germination or on peroxidase activity suggested that metabolic regulation by peroxidase between them was different.Seeds stratified at room temperature maintained its dormancy and embryo incudated at 25℃ germinated rapidly while the former with low peroxidase activity and the latter with high, which showed that some role might be played by peroxidase in dormancy of the seeds.
