THE CONTROL OF CLEARWING MOTH (PARANTHRENE TABANIFORMIS) WITH SEX PHEROMONE BY MEANS OF SMEARING VISCOSE ON THE TRUNK

Form 1988 to 1992, the smearing viscose on the trunk was used in the trapping of clearwing moth in Zhelimu league. Totally 5640 ha artificial poplar forests was controlled in this period. The effectiveness of control was 86.1 per cent. The rate of injured poplar by ciearwing moth has descent from.5.6% to 0.55%. The using of this technique has obtained remarkable benefits, which are ecological benefit, social benefit and economical benefit, it was proofed by practice that the attraction of clearwing moth using its sexual attractant can replace the using of other chemical insecticides.
