Preparation of Wood-Silica Aerogels Composites by Supercritical Drying Technique and Its Nano-structure

Qiu Jian, Li Jian(Northeast Forestry University, Harbin 150040, P. R. China)  
Silica aerogels-wood was prepared by sol-gel process and supercritical drying technique. By means of XRD, SEM, TEM and some other experimental methods, the structure and physical property of silica aerogel-wood samples were primarily investigated. The result showed that the prepared silica aerogels were coherent, non-crystalline, nano-sized porous solids. The mean diameter of particles was about 17~96 nm. Silica aerogels compacted with wood very well and the porous structure of wood could be maintained.
