Effect of Vesicular Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi on the Growth of Phellodendron amurense Seedlings

Fan Jihong, Yang Guoting(Northeast Forestry University, Harbin 150040, P. R. China); Li Guiling(Beijing Agricultural Vocation College)
An experiment was conducted to study the effect of Vesicular Arbuscular Mycorrhizal (VAM) fungi on the potted-seedling growth of Phellodendron amurense. Results showed that VAM fungi can remarkably promote the growth of P. amurense seedlings. The survival rate, increment, photosynthesis rate, transpiration rate and drought-resistance of seedlings infected by VAM fungi were all significantly improved, especially by Glomus mosseae and G. diaphanum.
