Carbon Stock and Carbon Sequestration of Successive Planting Chinese Fir in Different Rotations

The carbon stock and carbon sequestration of Chinese fir in different generations were investigated in Ancaoxia and Denke of Xihou Village, Nanping City, Fujian Province. Results showed that the total carbon stock of the first generation(FG) stands was up to 251.165t/hm~2, being 1.29 and 1.55 times as much as that in the second generation(SG,193.471t/hm~2) and the third generation(TG,161.716t/hm~2) stands, respectively. The living plants and dead organisms accounted for 72.91% and 27.09% in the generation one. Carbon storage of undergrowth reduced with the increase of generation, which in the TG stand was 2.33 and 3.67 times as much as that in the SG and FG stands. The carbon storage of litterfall in the FG stand was 2.799t/hm~2, which was 1.09 and 1.52 times as much as that in the SG and TG stands. The carbon storage of soil in the FG stand was 1.09 and 1.19 times as much as that in the SG and TG stands. Net carbon fixation of the tree layer were 7.653t/hm~2 in the FG stand, being 1.46 and 1.9 times as much as that in the SG and TG stands. The annual carbon return by litterfall in the FG stand was 1.25t/(hm~2·a), which was 1.10 and 1.34 times as much as that in the SG and TG stands.
