Analysis of Three Dimensional Shaking Table Test of Vertical Unanchored Storage Tank Model

The shaking table test of the 1000m~3 storage tank model was conducted in order to analyze the structure response of the vertical unanchored storage tank, and the seismic response of the tanks was tested by introducing three dimensional seismic power. Result indicated that the seismic response is magnified under the three dimensional seismic power compared with that under the single dimensional seismic power. The response of the acceleration amplified from 1.76% to 79.08%, and the average amplified extent was 42.86%. The displacement of the tank mainly showed magnifying trend under the three dimensional seismic power, and the average extent was 31.83%. The probability of the uplift and the height of the uplift rose obviously under the three dimensional seismic power, and the increased amplitude was between 20.47% and 79.54%. It is suggested that the seismic response of the vertical unanchored storage tank should be tested under the three dimensional seismic power.
