Spatial Distribution and Carbon Storage in Primitive Broadleaved Korean Pine Forests

An experiment was conducted to determine the carbon storage in vegetations and soil using typical sample plot method of forest ecology to obtain field data by means of the Walkley-Black acid digestion method. The spatial distribution and carbon storage in primitive broadleaved Korean pine forests of two forest types showed that the carbon density in different organs of the main tree species in broadleaved Korean pine forests ranged from 0.3316 to 0.5032g·g~ -1 . The total carbon storage of Betula costata-Korean pine forests was 456.03t·hm~ -2 , in which the amount of carbon fixed by vegetations was 55.13t·hm~ -2 and fixed by soil was 400.89t·hm~ -2 . The total carbon storage of Tilia amurense-Korean pine forests was 321.80t·hm~ -2 , in which the amount of carbon fixed by vegetations was 101.77t·hm~ -2 and fixed by soil was 220.03t·hm~ -2 . The annual net carbon storage by broadleaved Korean pine forests was 3.61t·hm~ -2 ·a~ -1 .
