Heating Value and Energy Structure of Pinus sylvestris var. mongolica Plantation (Ⅰ):the Biomass,Heating Value,Energy Pattern and Distribution of Trees and Understory Vegetations

An experiment was conducted to study the biomass,heating value and energy pattern and distribution of 24-year-old plantation of Pinus sylvestris L.var.mongolica Litv.in terms of the biomass investigation and heating value determination.Total biomass of the whole ecosystem was 124.71 t/hm2,in which 92.36 percent was the biomass of pine trees,and only 7.64 percent was the biomass of the understory plants.The biomass distributions of pine trees,ash and elm trees in the understory layer were in the same order,that is stemrootbranchleavestem bark.Heating value of pine trees was higher than that of understory plants with a sequence of needlestem barkbranchstemroot varying from 17.01 to 21.46 kJ/g.The exuberant growth parts(such as needle and fine root)had higher heating value than other parts.The heating value of understory plants varied from 14.86 to 19.18 kJ/g,and elm stem and ash fine roots had higher heating value(19.18 and 18.77 kJ/g,respectively)among different organs.The heating value of herb plants was 16.28 kJ/g.The total standing crop of system energy was 2 356.07×109J/hm2,in which 93.0 percent belonged to pine trees(2 191.85×109J/hm2)with a sequence pattern as stemrootbranchstem barkneedle.
