Structure and Growth of Floral Module of Rosa xanthina in Changbai Mountain Area

Big-sample method and random sampling method were used to investigate the biomass of floral module and the floral diameter of Rosa xanthina in Changbai Mountain Area. The growth regularities of R. xanthina flowers in four different directions were compared. Results showed that there is a similar quantitative characteristic of R. xanthina module in the east, south, west, north directions. The variable coefficient of the total biomass of receptacle and stamen is larger than that of the floral envelope. There is a positive correlation between the floral diameter and the biomasses of floral envelope and flower in different directions. The optimal correlative relationship could be expressed by exponential function. Differences in the growing speed of biomasses of floral envelope and flower in different directions were found with the floral diameter increasing. The biomasses of flower and floral envelope have phenotypic plasticities, but there is a same forming rule in different directions judging from the same function relationship. A closely positive correlation was also found between the biomasses of floral envelope and flower of R. xanthina in different directions. The best correlation relationship could be revealed by the linear function. There are differences in the growing speed of floral envelope biomass from different directions with the flower biomass increasing.
