Remote Sensing Analysis of Water Quality of Placer Gold Area in the Great Xing'an Mountains

The information on distribution and change of suspended sediment and chlorophyll in the water area of the placer gold region in the Great Xing'an Mountains was extracted according to the ETM remote sensing data in 1990 and 2000.Results showed that the model for quantitative remote sensing could effectively reflect the changing situation of suspended sediment and chlorophyll in the water area.The concentration of suspended sediment in the water area of the placer gold region in Great Xing'an Mountains in the year 2000 increased by 38.7% compared with the content in 1990,which revealed that suspended sediment had caused severe pollution,while the distribution area of high chlorophyll concentrations decreased by 6.17%,indicating that chlorophyll caused slight pollution.Remote sensing technique has a unique advantage of monitoring water quality,and it is beneficial to improve the effectiveness of environmental monitoring and ensure harmony between resource exploitation and environmental protection.
