GEOSTATISTICS IN ECOLOGY(Ⅰ)──BASIC THEORY AND METHODS

Geostatistics is a branch of applied statistics.developed from the mining industry.Comparing with the traditional statistical tools.the theory and method of geostatistics more focus on the spatisl dependence.It was used to study the spatial process of the variance between pairs of values of property at place separated by any distance.Its main content includes two techniques:semi-variogram. which is one way to model spatial dependence, and briging,Which provides estimates for unrecorded location.The paper introduced the basic theory and methods of geostatistics.and discussed the applied prospect of geostatistics in ecology.
