Review on the main theories of conservation biology

The theory of island biogeography,minimum viable population and metapopulation came into being successively during the development of conservation biology.Understanding their content, background and inevitability of production, advancement and limitation, can help to apply them correctly and get the perfect effect. On the basis of explaining the main viewpoints and characteristics, this paper points out the differences in content and the inherent relations in subject logic, and at the end it brings forward the basic principles in the application so as to protect more endangered species in the fragmented habitat.
