Research on hydrogen pressure field of micropores in heavy forgings

A micropore hydrogen concentration calculation model is established based on the gas sate equation combined with the original micropore hydrogen pressure calculation model. A complex calculation model of micropore hydrogen pressure is given. The micropore defects in heavy forgings can be treated as porous compressible material due to the similar physical property and deformation characteristics.In light of the forging process of large Cr5 forgings,a non-linear FEA model is proposed for the compaction process of micropore defects and calculation of micropore hydrogen pressure using the rigid-plastic finite element method for compressible material in this paper. By means of numerical simulation, the influence on the reduction of the relative density and micropore hydrogen pressure is discussed. The results show that 1. the relative density of forgings increases with the enhancement of reduction; 2. there is a threshold concerning the effect of relative density on the micropore hydrogen pressure. The micropore hydrogen pressure can be effectively regulated by controlling the forgings reduction.
