Perioperative Period Treatment of Hyperglycemic Large Bowel Cancer

Objective:To explore the methods of perioperative period treatment on hyperglycemic large bowel cancer Methods:From 1997 to 2002, 70 patients of large bowel cancer with hyperglycemia undergone operations in our hospital were analyzed retrospectively Results:70 cases all underwent elective operations The morbidity of postoperative complications: anastomotic leak 8 8%(3/34),wound infection 20 6%, pneumonia 2 9%, urinary tract infection 2 9% There were no postoperative diabetic ketoacidosis and operative death. The patients stayed in wards after operations for mean 19 days.Conclusion:If the patients blood glucose concentration in perioperative period could be well controlled, the method and timing of operation selected reasonable, the effect of surgical treatment on hyperglycemic large bowel cancer will be very gratified.
