THE CHARACTERS AND ENVIRONMENTS OF THE SEISMITES OF THE NEOPROTERZOIC WANGSHAN FORMATION IN NORTH ANHUI

The characters of seismites such as liquefied carbonate veins, breccia and liquefied deformation are obvious in the carbonate of the Wangshan Formation, which is an important strata of the Proterozoic in North Anhui. The characters and distribution of the seismites in the carbonatite and the depositional characters of the carbonatites suggest that the earthquakes occurred three times in the shallow ocean environments during the depositional period of the Wangshan Formation. The seismic events may be related with the tectonics and magma activities of the North China Block in the Neoproterozoic.
