Research on RMS measurement using the wavelet transform

This paper discusses the theoretical basis for rms measurements of power system directly from the Harr wavelet transform data associated with each sampling voltage and current element pair. The advantage of viewing the AC parameters of power system in the wavelet domain is that the domain preserves both the frequency and time relationship of these values. The reason to choose Harr wavelet is that it has excellent time localization performance,concise analytical expression and lower energy leakage on the window scale. Computer simulation result proves that AC parameters measurement using Harr wavelet transform could get the accurate result by the ideal sampling situation, i.e. the synchronous error is zero.
