Study on Line Selection of 10kV Distributed Line Single-phase Earth Fault with Transient Current Traveling Wave

This paper studied on the application of transient current wave theory in line selection of single-phase grounded fault of 10kV distributed system.It introduced theories of B-spline wavelet, the formation of traveling wave, and the analysis of the mode components of current traveling waves.Fault characters were pick-up from the mode components of initial current traveling waves in branch outlets as a new principle of fault line and fault phase selection by B-spline wavelet transform.The paper simulated a 10kV distribution grid, which was trained by a great deal of samples collected from dynamic simulation model and tested aiming at different fault models.The results of simulation experiment prove that the above methods could select the fault line accurately and reliably.
