The New Algorithm for Power System Frequency Measurement Based on the First Derivative

In the case of asynchronous sampling,because of the barrier effect of the spectral leakage,the results of Discrete Fourier Transform(DFT) are not precise enough and can not meet the synchronized phasor measurement accuracy.The existing synchronous sampling errors and method of error elimination were analyzed,and a new algorithm of system frequency measurement based on the first derivative was proposed.It uses the previous system frequency signal measurement for correcting the sampling frequency to get the calculation of frequency.Simulation results show that this algorithm has characteristics of high accuracy,small amount of computation and fast frequency tracking,etc.So,accuracy and real-time requirements of the synchronized phasor measurement can be satisfied well.
